I’m standing in the shadow of your tears.
In darkness the rapture disappears.
Black is the world you own.
Forever in sorrow. Forever alone.
Singing songbirds you shot from the sky,
Because of water that streams from your eyes.
I’m standing in the shadow of your tears.
Estranged emotions encumbered for years.
A skewered heart has broken your soul,
From a love in which you lost control.
Afraid of the shadows, you turn away,
Retire your valentines and let them decay.
I’m standing in the shadow of your tears.
Nameless, I am the sum of all your fears.
An abomination to torment your dejected soul.
A barbarian come to blow your heart full of holes.
To you I am the malicious and the immorality.
Afraid I’ll bring your heart to one more fatality.
I am standing in the shadow of your tears.
I’ll be standing here forever, so it appears.
I reach from the shadow and into the light.
To dry your tears from all your plight.
Don’t make me wait in the shadows,
In the darkness of your dreams.
I’m right here beside you,
And my love is so extreme.
I will dress your wounds and employ your heart.
So that you and I will never be apart.
Take me from the shadow of your tears.
Dry your eyes and watch as love appears.
